So it’s been a minute since I’ve done a life update. I started this blog as sort of a personal diary in a sense, so these updates are important.
First off, I can’t believe summer is over and it is the beginning of fall. I might have said this in the last update but 2017 is going with ridiculous speed. We only have 3 more months left of the year so I’m trying to make the most of it.
1. New School Year
I am in my second year of college! That’s wild. I’m not the baby on campus anymore. This semester is the first semester that I am completely free of general education courses. Such a blessing! With this in mind, I am starting to learn the fundamental aspects of my broadcast journalism major. For example, one of my classes is focusing on videography and video editing. I’m definitely grateful for my internship for teaching me some of the TV news skills that I’m currently learning in class. I’m also getting deeper into my Spanish minor. It’s all fun and games now so far, but I’m slightly nervous for the rigor of it all. But hey, I’ve never been one to back down from a challenge.
2. New Responsibilities
This school year, I have definitely gotten more involved with different organizations. Particularly, the African Student Organization. For those of you who don’t know, I am Nigerian (Yoruba). I love the people of ASO and am proud to say that I am on the Executive Board, as social chair. I can’t wait to tell you what is in store with this position.
Another new responsibility that is dear to my heart, is leading a small group bible study. The bible study is in affiliation with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship on Campus. My bible study is geared to black students. However, everyone is welcome. I cannot wait to take this journey of spiritual leadership. Which leads me to….
There have been so many tests in my spiritual walk lately. Despite this, I have been proud of myself for keeping my composure. I know that God is going to do wonders in my life. Despite these tribulations, I see myself walking more firm in my faith. I have grown to not be easily wavered by the problems. The bible study leadership responsibility has made me more cautious of my actions. I feel accountable knowing that I hold a spiritual position.
4. Love Life?
The answer to that is….NON-EXISTENT. I’m just kidding. I’m just chillin’ at the moment. (Like I’ve been doing for the majority of my life) There are people in my life who I may or may not fancy (feeling British). Nonetheless, I know that in the right time, God will choose the right person for me. Watching The Bachelorette this summer, made me think deeper about the kind of life partner that I want. I set my standards high. So, I’m sticking to my wishes and praying for the best to come.
Well, that’s all I have for today. If enjoyed this update, and want to ask more, please be sure to reach out to me via the contact section.
I hope you have a wonderful day,
